I finally finished Quake4 on Christmas Eve- thats taken a full year to complete. I played it on Lieutenant difficulty which is the hardest without having played through the game completely first which unlocks nightmare or something.

Part of the reason it took so long is its so slooow to load- it takes 2 minutes after you die to get back to where you left off- and if you imagine your at a hard bit- its a pain in the ass. In the end I got to the penultimate level where you get shut in a closed room with limited ammo and a single health recharge station. A couple of the hardest Strogg come at you and it took me about two weeks of trying but I finally defeated them, only for two other really hard enemies to come at you. I used every weapon I had and could not kill them so pretty well gave up. I had read on the net this was the hardest part of the game and there really no option but to fight these things. I have to say I could not do it, but then Hellborg got a cheats book in his 360 mag and there was a cheat in there for full health and full ammo- I decided to try it as it seemed a shame to get so close to the end not to see what happens. With this I had the ammo for the Dark Matter gun and despatching the bad guys was easy- only to reveal another pair of really hard to kill Network Sentinels- I have utterly no idea how anyone could finish this without cheating- seems impossible to me. Shows there must be some really good gamers out there with infinite patience.

Anyway with them cuffed the end of the game was relatively easy to kill the boss (the Makron). Game Over. thank God!.
I never received the 360 Achievement points for finsihing the game- probably because of the cheat use but hey who cares!

Found a really useful website- especially valuable for gamers who want to be sure they have shut down as much unneeded junk as possible before playing on their PC.

The site is ProcessLibrary.com and it contains a useful download which attaches itself to your Task Manager allowing you to directly access info on the web about any proces sliste din the Task manager.

Highly recommended.

Finally got my copy through of BF2142. The stories from the guys in the clan are makinging me kind of nervous about taking to the snows!

It seeems to be agame geared towards unlocks, getting the right ones early and owning everyone round you.

I had my first foray out last night , the first couple of rounds were fine playing “Fall of Berlin” but after this started getting spanked. The orbital strike (Artillery) and the walkers just owned everything, iif your not in one your dead!

My biggest problem was knifing- I managed to sneak up on 3 likely victims only to get shot after trying to get the kills about 3 times- nothing happened.

That aside though, on conquest maps, the game seemed to play much slower than BF2, the slow running speed Ithink gives this impression.

I need to try Titan mode now and see how I fare there. See you on the Battlefield soldier!

PS. My gamer tag is normally TanushiHeadbash but in 2142 I am TanushiHbash (cos youre only allowed 14 character max or something)

I am no gun nut though do like shooter PC games. I came accross this on google video that seems to turn the type of shotguns you get in PC games into reality…… wah.
